Hubs
Our Gravel wheelsets are built around carefully selected IONA hub systems, matched precisely to the performance goals of each Tenaci model.
The Tenaci GX23 is equipped with our IONA 4-pawl hubs, offering reliable engagement, durability, and smooth operation for demanding all-round and gravel use. This system provides consistent power transfer while maintaining long-term reliability in varied riding conditions.
The Tenaci GT25 and Tenaci GA40 feature our advanced IONA-S ratchet hubs, using a 36-tooth ratchet system for fast, precise engagement and efficient power delivery. This design ensures immediate response under acceleration while distributing loads evenly for improved durability and reduced wear.
All IONA hubs are built with high-quality bearings, selected per model to match performance requirements. The Tenaci GX23 and GT25 use custom S&S bearings, chosen for their smooth rolling characteristics and longevity. Our flagship Tenaci GA40 is equipped with SKF bearings, delivering the highest level of precision, durability, and rolling efficiency.
Every hub is engineered with a strong focus on reliability, serviceability, and long-term performance, ensuring consistent engagement and confidence on every ride — from rough gravel to high-speed road efforts.
Spokes and nipples
For our Gravel wheel builds, we rely on high-quality aero bladed spokes from Sapim, a globally respected manufacturer known for consistency, strength, and reliability. Depending on the wheelset and its intended use, we carefully select a combination of Sapim CX Leader and Sapim CX Delta spokes.
For our gravel wheelsets, we use a mix of Sapim CX Delta and Sapim CX Leader spokes, with the exact configuration depending on the specific model. The CX Delta is chosen for its increased strength and impact resistance, making it ideal for higher loads and rough terrain. The CX Leader offers a lighter weight and excellent balance between stiffness, durability, and aerodynamics. By combining both spoke types where appropriate, we optimise each gravel wheelset for its intended riding style and conditions.
All spokes are precisely specified in length and application to match each individual wheel design. This ensures accurate spoke tension, long-term stability, and consistent performance. With the exception of specific disc-only models, we exclusively use aero bladed spokes across our wheel range to maximise efficiency and maintain a clean, modern appearance.
Every wheelset is supplied with spare spokes and nipples as standard, ensuring that a minor incident never has to interrupt a great ride.
