Same objective. Different route. One shared ambition.
At Ere Research we believe performance is never the result of equipment alone. It comes from the combination of engineering, dedication, and riders who push themselves to go further. That philosophy is exactly why we are proud to support Irish National Gravel Champion Gabrielle Fox, together with FiftyOne Bikes.
Both Ere Research and FiftyOne share a similar mindset: innovation driven by passion for the sport and a commitment to riders who dare to take a different route.
Gabrielle Fox embodies that spirit perfectly.

A Different Pathway Into Elite Cycling
Before cycling entered her life, Gabrielle competed at county level in camogie with Armagh. Camogie is one of Ireland’s traditional field sports — fast, physical, and fiercely competitive. Reaching county level demands professional-level commitment while often balancing a full-time career.
That background shaped Gabrielle’s approach to training, competition, and pressure.
When a cruciate ligament injury ended her time on the pitch, the competitive instinct didn’t disappear — it simply found a new direction. Cycling began as part of her rehabilitation. What started as recovery soon evolved into something far more serious.
Borrowed bikes turned into early races. Early races quickly turned into results.
“I didn’t come into cycling through a traditional pathway, so I treat every race as an opportunity to learn and improve. The only real way to get better is to race against the best.”
Rapid Progression
Progress came quickly. By 2024, Gabrielle was racing at the sharp end of Irish women’s racing while working full-time as a mechanical engineer. She earned national selection, represented Ireland internationally, and finished 8th at the Gran Fondo World Championships.
Her domestic results included:
- Stage podium finishes at Rás na mBan
- A day in the Irish Leader’s Jersey
- 14th overall after six demanding stages
- Bronze at the Irish National Criterium Championships
Most elite cyclists follow a pathway that begins at a young age with years of structured development. Gabrielle’s journey has been different — entering the sport later and accelerating quickly toward elite performance.
That means learning faster, adapting faster, and often doing it without the usual support structures.

Racing Beyond Comfort Zones
Rather than settling after early success, Gabrielle pushed further. She stepped away from her job and travelled to Australia in search of harder racing and greater experience.
With little structure around her — just a bike box and determination — she joined the ProVelo Super League, exposing herself to elite fields, unfamiliar terrain, crashes, setbacks, and constant learning.
“There’s a lot of uncertainty when you don’t have structure around you, but anything worth having takes work. I love being in a bike race, right in the middle of it.”
Irish National Gravel Champion
In 2025, Gabrielle claimed the Irish Women’s Gravel Championship, confirming the upward trajectory of a rider who is still developing her full potential.
Rather than seeing the title as the destination, Gabrielle views it as another step forward.
“I focus a lot on the process — training metrics, preparation, consistency, and understanding both the physical and mental side of racing better.”
